We just went super early to see the tide pools, the light house wasn't open. We saw crabs, sea starts, sea cucumbers. It was really slippery! We enjoyed finding the little critters!Full review by taraoneil

I am pretty sure you could cross over at low tide when there is not a tour. This summer when we were there we crossed over at low tide but were too late for the tour. We just looked around from the outside. We enjoyed snooping in the tide pools.

Yes. Late summer and fall are very nice.

I don’t think there are any restrictions as long as the dog is on a leash.

The island is accessible at low tide by a short walk from the parking lot at the end of A Street. One walks across the rocky, temporarily dry, channel followed by an uphill climb to the lighthouse where the tours begin. The docents stay in the keeper's quarters and offer tours 10am to 4pm, tides permitting, from April through September.
