Stopped here to use the bathroom and ended up really enjoying our visit. There's a small gift shop, a small museum area, a really comfy-looking area to sit in big puffy chairs around a fireplace, and… Full review by Ravenito

What a wonderful find in this delightful town. Steeped with history and informative and friendly staff, this should be your first stop when exploring the area. They have a wonderfully maintained gard… Full review by Marcus D

Hello I am wanting to move to Palmer Alaska. I am licensed Cosmetologist and wondering what job market looks likes in my industry? Thanks!
A:
The cosmetology industry is great! It's not my field but I know many places are hard to get into because everyone is so busy. I don't think you'd have to worry about finding work.

Probably not in downtown Palmer (small town), but people who live all around the outskirts of Palmer do just that. One of our boarders has friends just 15 minutes from here (up the Glenn Highway) does and supplies us with eggs and wonderful tasting Goat's milk. You can buy fresh eggs at our local Animal Food Warehouse, which are supplied by local farmers. This is a somewhat laid back farming community. Lots of horses and cattle around. Big carrot, hay, and other veggies are grown and even sold at the local Fred Meyers store. There are wind-generators here and there and one of our Chiropractors has both a wind charger and a solar panels attached to his business. No sales tax for areas outside of the city, but 3.5% inside. Property tax for seniors is greatly reduced (the first several hundreds of thousands of property value is forgiven, above that value is taxed). I would suggest you "search" for info on Palmer, Alaska and/or the Matanuska-Susitna Valley for additional input.
