What is the water flow like in July and August? Is there a lot of water still in August, or does it trickle down?
A:
Rainbow Falls has good flow year around. It's fed by the San Joaquin River. There's another waterfall in Reds Meadow called Mineret Falls that runs low on water after the snow melts.
Which trail is better as far as scenery... 1) from Devil's Postpile or 2) Rainbow Falls Trailhead?
A:
Start from the visitors center( you are taking the bus anyway to get there) you will pass the Devil’s post pile then to the rainbow falls, beautiful scenery.
