I am traveling to st john in the near future and had a few questions i was hoping some one could answer about the boston whaler rentals, do you need written proof of boating experience? I have grew up on boats my whole life but cant prove that with any documentation, just wanetd to know the protocol on that before booking, also when checking out different beaches are you able to drive in close to drop off towels and passengers, or does everyone have to swim in from the moorings with all the supplies? any answers to these questions would be great! thanks in advance!

No documentation required for prior boating experience. They make you watch a short video and I think they "size you up" in terms of your experience while speaking with you as you fill out paperwork etc. i wouldn't worry about it. The Whalers they have are great. Easy to handle, plenty of room, etc. They will give you guidance on where to go, beaches, etc. For the most part, there are places for you to pull in and drop people, gear, etc ,off on the beach. They really don't want you beaching the boats but you can pull up in the shallow water off the beach and drop people off. As per the rules, there is no anchoring as most (if not all) the beaches you would go to in the boat are inside the National Park. So, drop the people, coolers, etc off then bring the boat to the dinghy tie up buoys just off shore. At most beaches, the dinghy tie ups are a very short swim to shore. Definitely do it - will be one of the best days of your vacation. Hope this helps....
Q:
How long did it take to get to Virgin Gorda from St. John? Thanks!
A:
Just about an hour after you clear customs. Totally worth the ride. The baths are beautiful and so much history
