Many tropicals, succulents and citrus trees can withstand a quick dip into freezing temperatures, but not a deep freeze.

The couple, who met while working as paramedics out of state, made a move to Central Texas and couldn’t find the trees they were used to, native to Oregon, for their family Christmas tree.
