A 73-year-old volunteer at Great Smoky Mountains National Park was found dead over the weekend after being reported missing while out on a hike in the park she dedicated decades of her life to, officials said Monday.

A hiker, who had been reported as missing, was found dead in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park on Sunday.

Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Two hikers recently have been found dead in national parks in Tennessee and Utah. On Sunday, the body of Cesar Herrera-Ruiz, a 37-year-old Canadian national, was found at Zion National Park in Utah, and Ann Houghton, age 73, was found deceased in Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee, authorities said.
