Recent reports suggest that Samsung's tri-folding smartphone may not debut alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 as previously speculated. Industry insider Max Jambor claims the device will be unveiled "at a later point in time.

We may not see the tri-fold Samsung Galaxy during the Unpacked this summer, despite an earlier report indicating just that.

Of course, that was never likely to be the end of the innovation. After being pipped to the post by the Huawei Mate XT, Samsung has been planning to unveil a tri-fold handset. Those feature three panels and two hinges, for an even larger display from a small initial footprint.
