Homelessness is a growing problem in New York, with the number of homeless people doubling in the last two years, according to a report released this past week by New York State Comptroller Thomas P.

The Western New York Land Conservancy recently purchased the 38-acre Jim and Edna Braddell Preserve on Grand Island. The preserve is on old farmland and not open to the public.
