How will they be able to do that because wont I need to keep gauze over the place where the tooth was extracted. Won't that flipper get in the way. Anyone ever had this done and...

They allow you you to eat and drink. They do NOT allow you you to bite off food with them. If you bit with the tooth on the flipper it will rotate down in the back.

Oct 27, 2011 · Unfortunately not, as it is very heavily restored. I was very sloppy with my dental care about 10 years ago, and this tooth was quite badly decayed so had a large filling. I didn't realise how large until 5 years later it came out! (I think it had been leaking for a while, which resulted in an infected nerve.)

Aug 20, 2012 · Your dentist needs to make adjustments to the flipper. I'm not a dental pro, but I do have an upper partial and my partial hurt, too. I HAD to stop wearing it because, like you, it was just TOO painful. Luckiliy, I had a pre-scheduled dentist appointment for later that week. He made some adjustments right there in the office.
