Jun 10, 2005 · I am about to plant morning glory seeds with the hopes of covering some sections of wood fence with lovely blooms. I used to grow mg as a child in my parents' garden. Some of my seed packets say to soak the seed overnight. Some of them say to scratch the seed and soak. Some don't say anything. Is the scratching/soaking necessary for germination?

Here's is what it said: From the Sticky: "Do I need to soak morning glory seeds before sowing them? The seeds will often sprout just fine without any pre-treatment. For pre-treatment, soak the seed until it swells.

Apr 11, 2007 · It has been suggested on the Morning Glory forum that if you don't get germination, you can try digging up the seeds you've already put in soil and soak them and then replant them. I've started my MG's like Critter - by soaking in a weak solution of water/hydrogen peroxide - and had very good germination.

Jun 10, 2011 · The Aztecs used Ololiuque or Rivea corymbosa seeds in a drink made with the crushed seeds and water . The sacrifical "participents" were given this narcotic . Morning Glories arn't as strong but do the trick .I'd consider just uploading that chapter as the full pdf book is over the limit if interested .
