We were surprised that the chrono confirmed the velocity we estimated. 3070 fps ES 6 SD 2! I was very happy with the velocity I'm getting with my 6.5 CM and 139 Scenars. 2880 fps ES 15 SD 5.

Apr 29, 2010 · With a 7mm SAUM you can come very close to matching the 7mm Rem Mag with bullets in the 140-160 weight range. With heavier bullets I think the 7mm Rem Mag should hold an advantage. My 7mm SAUM is chamber in a 700 Remington rifle with a 24 inch barrel.

Apr 28, 2010 · I'm looking to change rounds because I would prefer less recoil so I can enjoy practicing shooting more and improve the ballistics of the 7mm. reasons for the 7mm saum. It comes within 100 fps of the 7mm/300 wsm but with 8-10% less power. If anything should happen to pet load while on trip although hard to find factory ammo available.

Jun 22, 2011 · Re: 7mm SAUM Questions Goatphius, It's a little hard to reach 2900 FPS + with a 180 gr VLD, in a barrel length any shorter than 26", if you stay @ 2.825", with a 7mm SAUM. I could not reach 2850 safely with a 7mm 175 gr SMK in a 7mm SAUM 24" barreled hunting rifle, Rem 700 SS, @ a COAL of 2.815" a few years back.

The difference in case design a lets the short mags burn most of their powder in the case and not the barrel, like the mag, resulting in more shots downrange before the barrel gets hot.

Jul 5, 2021 · I'm looking for load data for 7mm saum with the 175 eldx. I like running 7828ssc but I have h1000 and retumbo. I normally run 168 bergers but just rebarreled to a 1-8 so I'm wanting to go heavier. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jan 1, 2022 · I havent ordered the 7 SAUM barrel yet. Build: Tikka T3x with long action bold stop - I have both magnum and .473 bolt face bolts. Manners EH1 Tikka with bottom metal Bushnell LRHSi 4.5-18 Using a stock CTR barrel in 6.5cm for deer/antelope - want the 7mm SAUM for anything larger (or muleys if I feel like it, etc).
