Aug 19, 2019 · It does not come with a display key sadly. You get a regular ole key. It does come with a digital key (a credit card) that you can use as your key to unlock and drive the vehicle.

Nov 13, 2021 · Does anyone have any experience with the diamond button on the key fob and what it is supposed to do? The manual (attached) is very brief. It describes a "Headlight courtesy delay feature", but exactly what this function does is very unclear.

May 9, 2021 · I’ve done it on my previous BMW. It's usually those little watch batteries you use in everything from key fobs to remote thermometers for the smoker. Takes like 2 min to pop open your fob and swap out, and you can buy a bulk pack of batteries on Amazon for like $5.

Feb 6, 2020 · The Digital Key will start and stop the engine, but it will not lock or unlock the car. I place the digital key between the driver's door handle and the door and it does not respond. Have tried it with the card facing me and away, but to no avail.

Jan 28, 2023 · Much fiddling about ended up swapping the battery from my unused key - same message. Used the unused key in the car - no message. It seems to be an issue with my regular key with or without a new battery.

Mar 14, 2021 · I just got this message on my g20 (14k miles 15months). I replaced the battery in the key twice but still keeps coming up. What gives? Is it something wrong in the car?

Dec 31, 2024 · BMW Assist checked the fobs and the car battery but couldn't find anything wrong. He has to use the key to open the door then reset the alarm by holding the fob against the dash. This happens at least once per week.

Apr 22, 2022 · The digital key did work well and was really handy, the hardware is still there but BMW decided to take the feature away in favour of supporting iPhone users from 07.2020. Frustrating and disappointing but connected drive ad use the functionality won't be returning to pre 07.2020 cars.

Dec 19, 2021 · Replace key battery a couple of weeks ago but every time I get into car get above message come up. No check control message in vehicle status. Key is working fine.

Aug 31, 2020 · After the update, I'm constantly getting key not found messages. At one point my car refused to start even with the key placed on steering column. Anyone else?
