Tires for R75/5 - BMW MOA
Jul 2, 2012 · Here's a few to get you started. But remember, the R75/5 series is a 40 year old machine. It was originally fitted with Continentals (3.25x19 front (RB2) and 4.00x18 rear (K112). Nothing manufactured today (other than the Continental (still in production) is a "true" fit. That said a lot of tires will work. I have Bridgestone S11 on my LWB /5.

R75/5 mufflers - BMW MOA
Sep 3, 2015 · 1971 BMW R75/5. I noticed my left muffler now has a nice sized tear (more than a simple hole) near the exhaust pipe. I replaced the stock mufflers, perhaps in the mid 1970's, with some type of "guaranteed for the life of the bike" after-market mufflers. I really don't remember what make they are or how to tell by looking.
1971 BMW R75/5: Which electronic ignition system?
Aug 14, 2017 · Both my R90s and R75/5 have the original points and condenser. I like adjusting points, setting dwell. But I was raised in Detroit, head under the hood as a kid, working on big block V8 's! I once installed a Dyna III in my R90s, 25 years ago and could never get it to run right, so I switched back to points and have no regrets.
1973 BMW R75/5 SWB versus LWB
Aug 29, 2018 · Well I did it again and purchased a new project and it is a SWB 1973 BMW R75/5 so I’m told. If in fact this is a short wheel base, how difficult is it to make it a LWB or can it be done. /5 compression test - BMW MOA
Dec 9, 2014 · The stock compression ratio is 9.0:1 for the R75/5. For estimations of a nominal compression value, I use the compression ratio plus 1.0 times 14.7. In this case 10*14.7 equals 147. So I would think 125 cold is not too bad. Note that the best reading comes when the carbs are removed from the heads.

May 9, 2013 · I'm about to replace the center stand on my 1972 R75/5. Can anyone tell me where the two rubber "stoppers" go? (referred to as grommets in other diagrams). They are #6 and #7 on page 671 of the Clymer Manual (fig. 3). Or #18 and #19 in this diagram...
