The Cernavodă Bridge (Romanian: Podul Cernavodă) is a complex of two freeway-railroad truss bridges in Romania, across the Danube River, connecting the cities of Cernavodă and Fetești, between the regions of Dobruja and Muntenia.

Mar 27, 2019 · Inaugurated in 1895, the Cernavodă Bridge, designed and built by Anghel Saligny, was the longest in Europe. The bridge had long secured the rail link between Bucharest and Constanţa, the main Romanian port on the Black Sea.

The bridge between Fetesti and Cernavoda was inaugurated in 1895. It covers a length of 21 km and includes bridges over Borcea and Danube, with the opening of over 190 m and four spans of 140 m. It has a height of more than 30 m compared to the water level to facilitate the passage of ships of various sizes.

The central span of the Danube Bridge is 190 meters and includes 4 smaller spans of 140 meters, as well as a viaduct with 15 spans of 60 meters. The bridge is situated 30 meters above the high water level of the river to allow the passage of ships with larger masts.
