Nov 2, 2011 · In regards to purchasing a Fluval 305 or 306 I have both filters in use on a 75 gal tank. The 306 primes much eaisier and faster then the 305. The 306 priming mech is very sturdy thus less chance of breaking and has been completely redesigned.
