Harogadde Manappa Nayak (1931 - 10 November 2000) was an academic, writer and folklorist. He was born in the village Harogadde, of Theerthahalli Taluk, Shivamogga district in Karnataka.

ಹಾಮಾನಾ ಎಂದೇ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧರಾಗಿದ್ದ ಹಾ. ಮಾ. ನಾಯಕರ ಪೂರ್ಣ ಹೆಸರು ಹಾರೋಗದ್ದೆ ಮಾನಪ್ಪ ನಾಯಕ. ಅಂಕಣ ಬರಹಗಳನ್ನು ಮುನ್ನೆಲೆಗೆ ತಂದವರಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಯಕರೂ ಒಬ್ಬರು. " ಕನ್ನಡ ತನ್ನ ಮೊದಲ ಪ್ರೀತಿ; ಎರಡನೆಯ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯೂ ಅದೇ" ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತ ಕನ್ನಡವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟುವ ಕೆಲಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಬದುಕು ಸವೆಸಿದ ಹೋರಾಟಗಾರ.

ತಮ್ಮ ಅಂಕಣ ಬರಹಗಳಿಂದ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧರಾಗಿದ್ದ ಹಾ.ಮಾ. ನಾಯಕರು (ಹಾರೋಗದ್ದೆ ಮಾನಪ್ಪನಾಯಕ) ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ- ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಲೋಕದ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಹೆಸರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ತೀರ್ಥಹಳ್ಳಿ ತಾಲ್ಲೂಕಿನ ಹಾರೋಗದ್ದೆಯಲ್ಲಿ 1931ರ ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 12ರಂದು ಜನಿಸಿದರು. ತಂದೆ ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸನಾಯಕ, ತಾಯಿ ರುಕ್ಮಿಣಿಯಮ್ಮ.

ಡಾ. ಹಾ. ಮಾ. ನಾಯಕರ ಪೂರ್ತಿ ಹೆಸರು ಹಾರೋಗದ್ದೆ ಮಾನಪ್ಪ ನಾಯಕ. ಹಾಮಾನಾ ಎಂಬುದು ಅವರ ಕಾವ್ಯನಾಮ. ಅವರ ಒಟ್ಟು ಬದುಕಿನ ಕಾಯಕದಲ್ಲಿ, ಸಿಂಹಪಾಲು ಕನ್ನಡದ ಕೈಂಕರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ, ಪರಿಚಾರಿಕೆಗೆ ಮೀಸಲು. ‘ಕನ್ನಡ ನನ್ನ ಮೊದಲ ಪ್ರೀತಿ, ಎರಡನೆಯ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯೂ ಅದೇ’ ಎಂಬುದು ಅವರ ನಿಲುವು. ಅವರ ಬದುಕು ಕೂಡ ಅಂತಹುದೆ.
