Jun 15, 2012 · the guy from wyeast always says that, aside from injecting oxygen, you wont get any more oxygen into the wort then you would after 45 seconds of rigorous shaking. you can shake for 5 hours, use a blender like this, etc. but you wont get anything more than a good 45 second shake would.

Aug 25, 2017 · I wait 4-7 days. Depending on life... I make an apricot ale that I put a whole #10 can of apricots. I use an immersion blender and dump into a 6.5 gallon car boy. Give it another week or so. Bumps the abv up to 8 or so.

Dec 6, 2015 · Interesting point. Makes me wonder if an immersion blender would be of use. You could either use it in the kettle, or you could remove a small portion of wort, blend in the hops and then add back to the kettle. That way you would minimize the amount of resin lost to the grinder.

Oct 11, 2015 · I simply pasteurize any fruit that's going into secondary for my beer. Put the fruit in a large pot with a small amount of water. Puree the fruit with a hand blender/immersion blender. Heat to 180ºF and hold there for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and add to beer.

Apr 10, 2008 · Getting ready to use a copper immersion chiller for the first time on saturday. Anything I have to do to clean it before I use it? It doesn't have any of that green corrosion that copper sometimes gets, but it's slightly dull. I soaked it in oxiclean and it came out looking the same. It smells really strong of... copper (duh).

Jul 24, 2024 · It is an evolving practice we all experience learning as we go in this hobby. I have been homebrewing 30+ years and along the way I have employed many different ways to cool wort. I have utilized immersion chillers and plate chillers. In my opinion both do a decent job getting your wort down to pitching temperatures.
Incognito + Spectrum...Any Experiences? - Homebrew Talk
Aug 16, 2022 · Following someone's advise, I poured 1 gallon of boiling hot wort into my conical fermenter and added the incognito to it. I then cooled the remaining 4 gallons of wort in the kettle before adding it to the fermenter. I am glad I did it this way because the incognito would have stuck to my copper immersion chiller and the kettle walls otherwise.

It's not cheap, but the temperature control is awesome (stays within +/- 0.5 degrees of your set point). It's easy to get going, and its best feature is it's electro-thermal heat transfer engine.
