The six campers spent six months surviving the predatory dinosaurs of Isla Nublar after the fall of Jurassic World. Stranded on the island, the campers looked for ways to survive and get off the island, while avoiding being eaten by dinosaurs, as well as harmed by some humans.

Jurassic Park was a safari park and zoo created by InGen on Isla Nublar, a remote island off the west coast of Costa Rica. The park featured dinosaurs as attractions, which were cloned in special facilities on nearby Isla Sorna and brought to the park.

Isla Sorna became InGen's "factory floor", where dinosaurs were cloned in the various facilities InGen built on the island. The dinosaurs were nursed in temporary cages until they were fit to be transported to Jurassic Park on Isla Nublar, 87 miles east of Isla Sorna.

In the Visitor’s Center fossil collections, a full sized Tyrannosaurus rex and an Alamosaurus Skeleton are posed in a battle scene. While being chased by the Velociraptors, Grant, Ellie, Lex and Tim climb onto the Alamosaurus skeleton in an attempt to escape. This skeleton broke apart when the Raptor leapt onto it.

May 13, 2024 · Isla Nublar, leased by InGen from Costa Rica, was abandoned after the original Jurassic Park containment breach. The introduction of hybrid dinosaurs led to another containment breach in Jurassic World, causing the island to be abandoned for a second time.

In the first novel and film, Isla Nublar is the location of Jurassic Park, a dinosaur theme park proposed by InGen, but it fails to open after the animals escape. In the novel, the Costa Rican government declares the island unsafe and has it napalmed; in the film series, the island continues to exist until the Jurassic World trilogy.
