This triggered ability has to use the stack, and it can't go on the stack until you've fully resolved Frantic Search. If you pay the cost, you cast it.

Note that madness doesn't instruct you to put the card onto the battlefield. You have to actually cast it, so it can be countered by things like Cancel. It's just that the cost of casting the spell is different.

Dec 17, 2013 · The Vizzerdrix will live. In the clean up step you discard down to maximum hand size and then all damage is removed from permanents with nothing else happening in between. After this if something should have triggered (Madness in this case) it will be resolved like normal and use the stack.
