May 6, 2018 · Worth noting that to connect your PS3 controller to your PSP Go, you'll need a PS3 system on hand. The PS3 actually has to pair the two via USB cables. They aren't able to detect each other any other way, as far as I know. It's ridiculous. I'm not sure if you have to do this every time you want to use your controller with your PSP Go.

Jun 15, 2020 · That controller relied on a CFW plugin to inject itself into the system, so even if you had one it might not work on a current firmware. The remote port can accept button codes for everything but the analog stick, but this was never leveraged to make a controller interface.

Apr 21, 2023 · The PSP GO has a built-in Bluetooth module, and officially supports the connection with a Dualschock 3 controller (PS3). I don't know if it would also work for a PS4 controller. Other PSP models don't have built-in Bluetooth.

I'm aware that the Go is capable of pairing with a PS3 controller, but since I'm going for an original-hardware solution I'd like to use physical games as well.

Jan 21, 2023 · I used a mini usb cable (I think) to connect the psp to my pc. Then I installed fusa gamepad (I think it needs to be installed on both your pc and the psp). After that the pc should recognize it as a controller. Steam has some problems but after activating generic controllers in the big picture menu and setting the controls in the game it worked

HOWEVER it may be possible to write a plugin for the PSP that can interpret the signals sent to the USB port from the 8bitdo adapter as input signals.

Remember, you can also map multiple physical buttons to one virtual PSP button, so use that to your advantage in your mapping.
