The Indo-Scythians (also called Indo-Sakas) were a group of nomadic people of Iranic Scythian origin who migrated from Central Asia southward into the northwestern Indian subcontinent: the present-day South Asian regions of Afghanistan, Pakistan, Eastern Iran and northern India.

Prior to their gradual migration into medieval India, the Sakas had been formed out of a seemingly vast range of nomadic tribes and groups which inhabited the region around the River Jaxartes (the modern Syr Darya, which flows from the Aral Sea towards Tashkent in Uzbekistan).

The Sakas, or Indo-Scythians, were a group of nomadic tribes from Central Asia which infiltrated into eastern Iran and were then attacked and driven south towards Gandhara by the Yuezhi tribes, where they contributed towards the weakening of the Greek kingdom there.
