U96 is a German musical project formed by DJ and producer Alex Christensen, [1] and a team of producers named Matiz (Ingo Hauss, Helmut Hoinkis, and Hayo Lewerentz). After a decade-long hiatus, the band returned in 2018 without Christensen and Hoinkis. [2]

U96 was the commercial forerunner of the techno movement. This was followed by various top 10 hits: "Heaven", "Club Bizarre", "Love Religion" and "Love sees no colour", which still enjoy cult status today. On Spotify alone, U96 has almost half a million monthly listeners.
