Protein kinase C controls lysosome biogenesis independently of …
Sep 12, 2016 · Here we describe a protein kinase C (PKC)-dependent and mTORC1-independent mechanism for regulating lysosome biogenesis, which provides insights into previously reported effects of PKC on lysosomes.
A Gγ protein regulates alkaline sensitivity in crops | Science - AAAS
Alkaline soils limit the ability of plants to take in nutrients and manage salt stress. Zhang et al. have now identified a locus in sorghum that determines sensitivity to salty alkaline soils.

CDK4/6 regulate lysosome biogenesis through TFEB/TFE3
Aug 3, 2020 · Here, we report that the cyclin-dependent kinases CDK4/6 regulate lysosome biogenesis during the cell cycle. Chemical or genetic inactivation of CDK4/6 increases lysosomal numbers by activating the lysosome and autophagy transcription factors TFEB and TFE3.
Control of grain size and weight by the RNA-binding protein …
Nov 26, 2024 · Understanding the molecular and genetic mechanisms of grain-size control is important for yield improvement. Here, we report that the enhancer of GS2 AA (EOG1) encodes an RNA-binding protein, which can bind mRNAs of …
Chilling-induced phosphorylation of IPA1 by OsSAPK6 activates
Jul 26, 2022 · Our study has revealed an OsSAPK6-IPA1-OsCBF chilling signaling cascade in rice, which has greatly expanded our understanding of chilling responses and provided …
Systematically Ranking the Tightness of Membrane Association for ...
Large-scale quantitative evaluation of the tightness of membrane association for nontransmembrane proteins is important for identifying true peripheral membrane proteins with functional significance.
SCFSAP controls organ size by targeting PPD proteins for …
Here we report that a mutant allele of STERILE APETALA (SAP) suppresses the da1-1 mutant phenotype. We show that SAP is an F-box protein that forms part of a SKP1/Cullin/F-box E3 ubiquitin ligase complex and controls organ size by promoting the proliferation of …
OsHYPK-mediated protein N-terminal acetylation coordinates …
Apr 4, 2022 · We found that loss of OsHYPK function leads to developmental defects in rice plant architecture but increased resistance to abiotic stresses, attributable to perturbation of the N-terminal acetylome and accelerated global protein turnover.
