Jan 30, 2025 · I’ll have to build it in the front yard (that floods) next to the house so I can run an extension cord to the coop and hang heat lamps. But before that, I must get a load of dirt and build up a place to raise it above the water level in heavy rains. It’s been raining all week of course. I ordered dirt last Friday. Weather has not cooperated.

Jul 26, 2009 · I put wood pallets (which you can get free at some places) over the low spots in my yard. My goats love the sound of their hooves on them, I think. I read on here somewhere that most folks don't care for the gravel because it holds the poops and is hard to keep clean.

Having dairy goats means that there will be more kids, more unwanted goats and more problems on what to do with them. It is much kinder for the goats to leave your loving farm, go to slaughter and be brought back to nourish your family.

May 15, 2011 · My 15 goats live in the walnut orchard most of the year. Most of the trees are English walnut, but a few are black walnut. They eat the leaves, the hulls and the small goats climb the trees. I have never had a problem.
