Camping at Millerton Lake With warm springs, hot summers, and cool winters the region’s temperate climate makes our campgrounds a great option for camping year-round. Most camp loops have restrooms equipped with flushing toilets and quarter operated showers.

Millerton Lake is located in the southern portion of California's Central Valley in Fresno and Madera counties. The lake lies in the upper San Joaquin River Watershed. Its main purposes are reclamation, flood control, irrigation, and recreation.

Camping – The north shore has 148 developed sites among oak and gray pine woodlands, 27 with electricity hookups. Each site has a table, fire ring, and access to drinking water. Two group campgrounds can accommodate from 45 to 75 people. Boat Camping – Temperance Flat has two dozen first-come, first-served sites reachable by boat.

The South Shore at Millerton Lake is designated for Day-Use and boat launch facilities. It is host to multiple picnicking sites, restrooms, one multiuse trail, beach access, and a lifeguarded swim beach during the summer months. South Shore kiosk is open for fee collection April-September.
