On Red's Dream, the Pixar square logo is seen, which fades into the text "PIXAR". On a demo reel from 1988, the standard logo is still, and gray diamonds replace the spheres. The end of the reel has the logo pushed up, with the company's address below. The text style used in this variant is also used in Red's Dream, Tin Toy and Knick Knack.

During production of Toy Story in 1994, Pixar began referring to itself as Pixar Animation Studios, and dropped the square logo in favor of a wordmark set in the Charlemagne Bold typeface. This logo was created by current Pixar CCO Pete Docter.

First used for the 3D release of Up (2009) as well as the 3D releases of most PIXAR films and shorts. First used for the 3D release of Cars 2 (2011) as well as 3D releases of anamorphic PIXAR films and shorts. Logo with Tinny.

Beginning from 2009, at the beginning of films from Toy Story 2 (3D re-release) onward, the logo animates as normal, but after the lamp turns it fades to black early. On the 3D versions of Incredibles II and Toy Story 4, The 2D Version is used.

Full-screen version, used in VHS releases of Pixar films until Cars. Also used in 4:3 DVD prints of Pixar films until Ratatouille (the last film to use the 1995–2007 logo).
